It makes you wonder why the Cubs are only 69-46

Posted on: August 6, 2008 6:25 pm

Let's look at some things:

  • Cubs have scored the most runs in the NL, 2nd in baseball
  • 2nd in OPS in baseball, lead NL
  • Best BA in NL, 2nd best in baseball
  • Best OBP in baseball
  • Best starter's ERA in baseball
  • 2nd most wins by starter's in NL
  • 2nd fewest loses by starter's in NL
  • 2nd best starter's WHIP in NL
  • According to a recent Jerry Crasnick article, they have the 2nd best bullpen in baseball, best in NL
  • They have the 3rd best defensive efficency in baseball, best in NL

Any thoughts on how they don't have a better record, as really they should?
